Fragile Digitisation and Preservation

This service is specifically designed for digitisation of library, musuem, archives and fragile items. 

Bound books, fragile documents, maps, framed pieces of artwork which require to be handled by experienced and trained archivists.

Flat bed designed units, with high resolution cameras fixed over head.

These unique pieces of equipment, are designed to allow for movement to clients sites.

1 - Location 

The digitisation frame and camera can either be transported to the clients site or the items to be digitised can be brought to our facility in Hillington, Glasgow.

Items need not leave the security of clients sites to be digitised.

2 - Digitisation

The operators are experienced and trained archivists, to ensure handling of the items is kept to a minimum.

All records are digitise to very high resolution. To mono, grayscale or colour format. Select either PDF, TIFF (compressed or uncompressed) or Jpeg file formats. 

3 - Data entry / indexing / naming

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is standard.

Tailored naming conventions to ensure you can retrieve the information quickly and accurately.

Meta Data, CSV files and Data Extraction to ensure you can upload the data in to whatever your chosen electronic filing system.

4 - Cloud data hosting

Your completed scans and meta data, will be returned to you via our secure file transfer cloud system.
